Stumptown has great flavored coffee and they care alot! A nice little location with a variety of local snacks and drinks.
Wish there were a Stumptown in Tacoma, but I digress. Great cold brew and the baristas are very helpful.
Espresso and single cup coffee prepared with the utmost care; drip coffee exiled to a self-serve counter where it belongs.
Had a bad experience here. Kind of snobby barista. I don't remember his name, but he was definitely a Capital-Hill-Billy.
Who knew 'tude could be brewed? Helluva hipster joint but the coffee brings it - with or without the frequently unflattering parade of skinny jeans.
The coffe is wonderful, but not have Brazilian coffe!!!hummm
Excellent service. Great coffee.
Stumptown always has solid coffee offerings and it is my go-to roastery and coffee shop when I'm in the PACNW. This coffee shop has your standard vibe and the staff is friendly. Do yourself a favor and try their cold brew or nitro cold brew for a refreshing drink on a warm day.
Stumptown uses Mast Brothers chocolate in their hot chocolate. They roast their own coffee beans on site. They are pure awesome.Fight for a seat, grab your drink of choice, and find your happy place. If you're curious about what they do, look at their website for joining a cupping event, where you can taste test their coffee.
Good place to hang out if you can get a seat. It's a bit awkward when the place is full - which is often.
Great place to work and drink good coffee.
Great atmosphere, interesting choice of music and their coffee is great too!
Walked almost two miles and the coffee wasnt anything special. Place is simple and nice but the coffee just wasnt worth it.
Food was good but not worth the wait. Don't like coffee enough to dpend money on it. Make my own.
One of the greatest coffee shops of all time!
A coffee place with some attitude. But, also a nice place to laptop-work from in a pinch.
Super chill coffee shop, nitro cold brew is incredible for the summer. Not a lot of seating but a very nice atmosphere and place to get coffee.
Way Cool Way Good Way Convieniant
Best cold brew I've ever had. I'm Super happy and satisfied. :))
Cold brew is great... They also have a delicious IPA.
Very friendly staff and excellent coffee, was surprised with a complimentary piece of fresh cake from the back. Really an excellent experience.
The coffee and cold brew are good. The atmosphere is nice and the service was friendly. It had a community-feel regarding interaction with customers. Very nice.
Some of the best coffee in Seattle. Currently, my vote for "best ever" - though I need to try Analog Coffee according to my friends. And, it is right next to my apartment!
Quaint location....reminded me of old Detroit.
I used to live right on top of this cafe and basically went there very morning for my caffeine fix. Great lattes (not too hot!) and some yummy deserts.Although they have free wifi, it can be shotty sometimes. But there's usually other open public networks available.
Best coffee on Capitol Hill and probably Seattle... Only downside is I wish the outdoor seating was better...
Capitol Hill atmosphere. Large latte was very milky though and I got only a lame excuse that it is normal with that size. No extra shot offered like essentially anywhere else.
Great coffee, pleasant servers, relaxing music, and good location and atmosphere. My only complaint is they don't have an oven to heat pastries etc.
A lot of places serve Stumptown Coffee and their coffee is pretty good, especially the cold brew. This location itself is fairly small and the internet wasn't too reliable the last time I was there, but it's worth going here for the coffee.
Google maps asks me if this place serves local specialties and I say "Yes".There are so many different coffee shops with all their various apparatuses and roasts and blends and blah blah blah. To stand out as a coffee shop in Seattle you either need enough beakers and bunsen burners to run a meth lab on the side or have a topless barista and a full length window.Stumptown is consistently 3 steps above the run of the mill coffee. Their roasts, their grind, the timing of their espresso pulls, they're all on point, every time I go. As funny as it sounds, I feel like their pretension about making coffee has toned down as so many other places dive into the deep end.
Good quality coffee/espresso, but that's limit, really.
Awesome coffee choices here! Unfortunately, because they're such a large business, everything is a bit overpriced. But this my favorite place to go to after 6 pm when most other coffee shops are closed for the day. I'm not a fan of the seating there. Not really comfortable for long conversations / working. But the coffee and baristas are great!
Amazing coffee. Solid pour over selection that can be from any of their beans. A decent amount of pasty for that quick bite before work. Of course running vinyls and little potted cactus around.
I really like their chairs, a copy of an Eames chair. Their coffee is good as well.
Is it too hipster to love Stumptown Coffee? These guys are passionate about coffee, especially espresso. And I love it. They've never pulled me a bad shot, or looked at me weird when I order lattes in summer. They are such coffee purists that their food range is just a sampling of baked goods. There's also minimal seating, but you can always enjoy your coffee in a nearby park.
Went right as they opened at 7am Saturday morning and it was surprisingly lively. Great place to people watch. Have a conversation, or read a book. I saw someone at the table next to me sketching as well. Also the coffee was delicious!
Classic and small exactly what a shop should be
I liked the coffee a lot!! The customer service could definitely be worked on, the girl at the front was snobby and annoyed I didn't know what to order - it was my first time there. It was definitely crowded on a Sunday morning, but by waiting a few mins we found a seat. Good pastries too! Definitely a trendy crowd, but again great coffee so it's worth it! I'd say more of a place to go in and out because it can get busy and there is limited seating.
My favorite coffee place in town. My go-to is an 8oz whole-milk latte. Just typing that makes me like my lips.
Hipster without trying. Nitro cold brew is life. Skip the big green roastery and check this place out instead.
Great coffee, but there could be more variety and the food selection could be a bit more extensive. The vibe here feels a tiny bit manufactured. That being said, this place is great to chat or chill with friends. Lots of people working here and the people watching from the window seats is majorly on point.
For true coffee connoisseurs, and visitors who want to taste coffee like it was meant to be, you need to Stumptown. Don't expect the high-calorie sweet versions of big chain fancy-named elixirs.... And you may feel out of place if you order a Macchiato and expect a 12oz cup full of foam... Don't do that... Instead, order a Macchiato for here and taste what a true shot of espresso should be. Delicious crema, full-flavored and sensational. Stumptown isn't for everyone, the coffees are roasted wonderfully, and they are among the best at it... And they know it. If you're from out of town and have always wanted to taste what Seattle is known far, Stumptown is among those to try.
The search for a good drip continues...Their self-serve drip is a medium roast Columbia with very bright acidic notes. If this is where your palette is, then this is for you! If you're like me and searching for a bold and robust drip, please avoid. You can always make a bold coffee less intense, but you can't save a weak coffee.I ordered an almond croissant as well. It was dry and bordering stale as if it were a reject sent right from Portland.I personally won't return, but the staff was nice enough and the environment was comfortable. Very classic local coffee shop vibe. It is for this reason I'm moving my rating from a 2 to a 3.
must see for any coffee lover.
Always filling up my cold brew growler here. I've had some bad nitro here though, very watered down at times.. But otherwise, it's a great coffee place that is open later.
(Review of Nitro Cold Brew) Went to Stumptown for the first time today to try this Nitro Cold Brew that I've been hearing so much about lately. I love nitro stouts and I love cold brewed coffee so I thought, "wow, this is going to be good!" Boy oh boy was I wrong. It tasted exactly like someone took the old, used grounds from a day old batch of Folgers mixed it with cold water and ice, and then squirted in some lemon juice. Am I missing something? Did I just get a bad batch or the end of the keg or something? I really wanted to like this but it's going to be hard to give this a second chance to dole out so much moolah for the worst iced drink I've ever had.
Stumptown is my favorite coffee in Seattle. The Hair Bender and Holler Mountain blends are excellent.
One of my all time favorite coffee roasters!
This place is really cozy and taste is nice.
Worst coffee I've ever tasted. Cramped. Snacks look and taste a week old. Not covered so flies get into food display. Real zero-effort staff.
